With a background in collegiate athletics, I know what it takes to fuel high-level performance. But after sustaining my fifth concussion on the soccer field, I decided it was time to hang up my cleats. I then turned to my passion of lifting and have devoted myself to helping others reach new heights in their fitness journey.

I’m Coach James, a personal trainer and health coach, and it’s my mission to help you build strength and transform your physique through my unparalleled training systems so that you can achieve your best self in less time.

I reached out to James because I was struggling with shoulder mobility, muscle endurance, and overall strength. After working with him for 3 months, I saw significant improvements in not just shoulder mobility but also strength, muscle endurance, and increased chest strength. I am stoked with my results. I am now leaner, stronger, and willingly do leg days.

Before coming to James, I struggled with gaining size, strength, and sticking to an overall program.

However, after reaching out to him to get on a program, I have seen significant improvements in my knee strength, have gained 6 pounds, and just feel a whole lot better.

I came to James because I was having a hard time gaining strength and muscle, and just sticking to a solid routine. His programming gave me workouts that required hard work but didn’t take hours, an understanding of how to group and order exercises when training, and an overall enjoyment. Since starting, I went from zero pull ups to six really good ones, noticeably bigger biceps, and I feel better overall.

After starting James’s fitness plan I started seeing major increases in my strength and overall confidence in the gym.

Before starting the program, I found it hard to have variability in the gym. He helped introduce me to new lifts, which kept things interesting, as well as muscle confusion.

His easy to use guide allowed me to track my weight on exercises to see how I was progressing. Having this new chart on my phone made it more convenient than having a notebook which made me more likely to use it!

Having James walk me through the finer points of gaining muscle and the methodology behind each day allowed me to trust in the system and attack hard every day knowing I’m working out the correct way.

What is health coaching?

A health coach is someone who helps you to identify small diet and lifestyle changes that you can make to reach your health goals, whatever they may be (lose weight, reduce stress, gain energy, etc).  Health coaches are both listeners and advice-givers; they guide clients through the world of contradictory nutrition information and provide recommendations based on the individual’s goals, habits, and body.

How quickly can I expect results?

Seeing progress in the gym is a marathon. It takes time and that is why the majority of people fail. If you stick to your program, buckle down and actually do the work, you will see results. I can give you advice and the tools, but I can’t do it for you.

What exactly is the Get Strong system and what does it include?

The Get Strong system is a series of steps that helps you breakthrough the barriers that are holding you back from seeing real progress. Here’s what the System includes:

Identify Mindset Blocks

You can only do what your mind tells you, so let’s program your health mindset. We look at your thoughts about health and working out and develop a plan so your mind does not stand in the way of your success. 

Set Goals

The most successful fitness program revolves around goals and intrinsic motivation. You are here because you want to get strong, but what is the driving force behind that? We will create short term goals to help you reach that long term goal. 

Create Program

We will create your unique, simple step by step program that will allow you to Get Strong. I will personalize a routine that fits everything you have told me and will be the biggest tool you use during our time. 

Feedback & Review

Feedback and review are essential to your success. I don’t just throw you out on your own once you receive the program. We will have weekly calls to discuss the previous weeks exercises, what worked and what didn’t, and tweak it for next week.

Nothing should go unnoticed. Smash a PR on one of your lifts? Celebrate it! The small little steps you take on this journey should fuel you to keep reaching for that ultimate goal. 

Do you follow and recommend any one diet to you clients?

While I myself follow a balanced diet with plenty of planned indulgences added in, I recognize that we are all different meaning our bodies, lifestyle, and needs are different. What works for one person may not work for someone else. Through my research and experience working 1-on-1 with clients, I have found that a personalized, tailored approach always gets the best results. I work with my clients to find the specific foods that make them feel their best!

I am busy... How much time do I need to commit?

Everyone has enough time to improve their health. If you think you don’t, it is my job to help you with time management to create an efficient schedule that allows you to prioritize your health without wasting your precious time.

With that being said, your time commitments will vary based on your agenda and personal goals.

In short, we will create a plan that works with your schedule!

How do you work with clients online?

I work with clients from around the world in an online basis. Online coaching is advantageous because you receive support around the clock and workout on your own schedule. I provide you with all the tools you need to succeed. We communicate via email and have check-ins via Zoom.
